Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about how the referral process works.
Is HVAC Service Line an HVAC contractor? +
No. HVAC Service Line is an independent referral service. We don't perform HVAC installation, repair, or maintenance ourselves — we connect homeowners with independent HVAC companies that do.
Does it cost anything to use HVAC Service Line? +
No, there's no charge to submit a request or get matched with a company. Any cost is between you and the HVAC company you choose to work with, for the work they perform.
How are companies in the network chosen? +
Companies in our network are independent HVAC businesses that operate in the areas they serve. We recommend homeowners confirm any company meets their state's requirements for HVAC work directly with that company before hiring, the same way you'd vet any contractor.
Am I obligated to hire the company I'm matched with? +
No. Being connected with a company is the start of a conversation, not a commitment. You're free to decide whether to move forward after speaking with them.
What areas does HVAC Service Line cover? +
The network includes independent HVAC companies across a wide range of markets nationwide. Coverage and availability can vary by location and by the specific service requested — submit a request and we'll do our best to match you with a company serving your area.
What information do I need to provide? +
Generally: your location, a brief description of what's going on (or what you're looking to have done), and a way to reach you. The more detail you can give, the better a company can prepare before contacting you.
Can I request a company for a new installation, not just a repair? +
Yes. The network includes companies that handle new installations and full system replacements, not just repairs and maintenance.
How quickly will I hear back? +
This varies by location, time of day, and the type of request. Emergency and urgent requests are prioritized where possible, but response times ultimately depend on the companies serving your area.
